Introduction

Struggle!

This is the first time I have had to struggle to put together an issue of Engaging Minds. I don't feel like I don't have anything to say but I do feel like I don't have the words to say it. Those of you who know me are thinking "Morris, stuck for words? Never!"and you would be right because I have got plenty of words, my mind is full of them; I just can't find the right ones.

There are ways to overcome this situation though. Have a look at Coaching Ideas to see how overcoming blocks in our life can allow us to be who we can be. If this issue is not an exact duplicate of last month then you'll know it's working for me.

I got some nice feedback on Lifelines. Thanks. This months entry I particularly like.

What is odd? When someone asks me such a question it takes me by surprise. Normally the questions I get are "how can I..." or "what if I did this" and usually I can respond almost immediately. Then out of the blue comes a thought provoking, powerful question that makes me stop and realize how much for granted I take this beautiful gift of language. See what I said in Odd and even...odder.

Coaching Ideas

Through the barricades!

I am going to refer back to something I covered in an earlier issue: aligning your life with your values.

How many of you reading this have sat down in the last 6 or 12 months and written out what you believe your values to be? If you did this well done. Did you then go on to examine what aspects of your life didn't accord with those values? You did? brilliant! Did you notice that the areas where there was discord was also the areas where you were most troubled; most stressed and likely most confined?

This is most often the case. What you will usually find too is that those discords affect the areas of your life that are in accord too! You can't always concentrate on the important stuff, you don't always have the patience you would like to have and you lose sight of the positives.

Don't be confined; don't let the blockages barricade you in even if their number seems overwhelming. Once you start to focus on them you will realize that it was only the fact they were out of focus that made them look 'bigger and badder' than they actually are.

Got you thinking

A number gives you the following clues to its identity

I am a two-digit number

I am not a prime number

My two digits are not the same

I am not a multiple of 2, 3 or 5.

What number is it?

Odd and even...odder!

One of my favorite subscribers asked me a question the other day (prompted by something I had written elsewhere):

"What makes someone odd?"

I promised her I would think about it and this seems like a great forum in which to answer it. It's a tough question and that is why it will take me till next month to respond.

Sorry favored subscriber!

This months featured Blog entry:

POLITICS

The truth, the whole truth and Liberal Democrats!

So I have only myself to blame for thinking the LD's in the UK were above lies and deceit.

I can handle human frailty such as alcoholism and I don't give a damn if you are gay, bisexual, transsexual or hydrogenated but DON'T LIE ABOUT IT.

I don't feel the blame falls entirely on the 'guilty' parties, read the blog and see who else I hold in contempt.

Please leave your comments on the Blog; tell me and us what you think!

PS. Whilst there make sure to give some thought to the topic on Hamas and Sinn Fein; I really want to know what you think.
